🦆 What Is an Original Character?

Caveduck now allows you to register characters that are shared only within the platform as Caveduck Original Characters.

When you enable this option, you’ll receive an enhanced incentive rate.

Please note that these characters are exclusive to Caveduck and cannot be uploaded to external platforms.

How to Set Up

1. Go to the character creation or edit screen.

2. In the [Public Settings] section, enable the “Caveduck Original Character” toggle.

3. Click Save, and the “Original” label will appear at the top of the character info.

If an existing character is already published on Caveduck, you can convert it to an Original Character from the edit screen.

Notes

- Once enabled, the Original Character setting cannot be turned off for 3 months.

- Do not enable this setting for characters that you plan to upload to external platforms.

- If a character is already uploaded elsewhere, it may be reviewed or adjusted by the admin team.

FAQ

Can I register a character as an Original Character if it was not created on Caveduck?

Hello!

A Caveduck Original Character refers to a character that is exclusively available on Caveduck.

If your character was originally created on Caveduck but temporarily removed or unpublished from other sites, you may still register it as an Original Character.

However, once registered, the Original Character status will remain exclusive to Caveduck for 3 months,

so please make your decision carefully.

Can I register a character for now if I plan to publish it elsewhere after 3 months?

You can register the character as an Original Character as long as it remains exclusive to Caveduck for 3 months.

During this period, it cannot be uploaded to other platforms.

After 3 months, if you decide to upload it elsewhere, please go to the edit screen and manually turn off the “Original Character” toggle before doing so.

Can I register it if it shares the same world as a character on another platform?

Hello!

Yes. If the character’s world, background, or setting differs clearly, it can be registered as an Original Character on Caveduck even if similar concepts exist elsewhere.

Can remakes be registered as Original Characters?

In principle, characters that are remakes or alternate versions of existing characters cannot be registered as Original Characters.

Examples:

- Remakes of characters published on other platforms

- Reinterpretations of existing characters as adult or alternate versions
